Yoga and Trauma Recovery
Trauma recovery has many forms and means. In recent years, many ways of healing from trauma have been developed, studied, and applied. Yoga is a practice that has been studied in recent years as a means to aid in the healing of trauma. The connection between attention to body position, the mindfulness components, and the emphasis on breathing all seem to have a profound effect on the body as it moves through the healing process.
With this in mind, the Trauma Center will be offering a yoga-based trauma recovery group starting in just a couple of weeks. We’ll be blending the practice of yoga with techniques of breathing, mindfulness and traumatic processing in this unique group offering. If you know of anyone who could benefit from this form of group experience, please contact me at chris@renewedhopecounseling.net or call at 980.800.4323. See the flyer below for more information.
